New Resident Resources
Welcome to North Mankato!
North Mankato is a growing, family-oriented community and home to almost 15,000 residents. Our City is located at the bend of the Minnesota River where it majestically turns and flows north, and nature added the beauty of bluffs, valleys and rich farmland. Located just an hour or so south of Minneapolis/St. Paul, North Mankato is close enough to enjoy all the amenities of the metropolitan area, yet far enough away to enjoy the small-town character of the Midwest. Our clean, safe and peaceful City embraces a friendly and cooperative atmosphere where neighbors, businesses, public officials and City staff work together to achieve a high quality of life. We are proud of what we offer our citizens, and with your input, we are planning for future growth. As part of the North Mankato/Mankato region, we have excellent public and private schools and are part of a regional center for health care, shopping, higher education, sports, and recreation. The North Mankato Taylor Library is an innovative library providing books, e-books, DVDs and extensive programming for children, young adults, and adults. The City-owned Caswell Park softball complex and Caswell Park North soccer fields host community, state, regional and national events. North Mankato has over 277 acres of beautiful parkland offering additional leisure and recreational opportunities.
