Wheeler Park

Wheeler Park

Wheeler Park is located on Center Street in lower North Mankato and is the City’s oldest park.  The lower area in the park was dug out for brick making by a local business in the early part of the century.  The 12 1/2-acre park is the site of the annual North Mankato Fun Days celebration every July.  There are two picnic shelters, one that can be reserved and the other is on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Tennis courts, basketball courts, twelve clay horseshoe courts and two playground areas along with a large skating rink for winter use makes Wheeler Park a favorite for family picnics as well as company outings.

The large enclosed shelter that is attached to the bathrooms is available for reservations.  This shelter has electricity, a drinking fountain and a large attached deck.  A key needs to be picked up for this shelter at City Hall the last business day prior to your event.  The fee to rent this shelter is a nonrefundable $100 per day.

The shelter on the edge of the parking lot is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  This shelter has electricity and a drinking fountain nearby.
